Authentic Writing: Journal Entry
The instructor will show the following video (http://hiddenincavideos.com/uncategorized/machu-picchu-complete-virtual-tour-in-about-6-minutes/) to the class, skipping to aspects that are seen as most important. Additional commentary may be added at times where students seem to be confused or need more clarification. Along the tour the instructor can pause the video and generate discussion by using questions such as, “What do you see a lot of?” Once the video has ended students will be sent back to their desks to write a three sentence journal entry of what they saw as they navigated through Machu Picchu.
